Update the Educational Qualification

Update the Educational Qualification

    1. Why can't I update my educational qualification directly on the NAFIS platform?

Educational qualification data is received from the relevant official education authorities. Therefore, it cannot be updated directly by beneficiaries. Any changes must first be verified and approved by the relevant authority.

    2. What should I do if the educational qualification displayed on the NAFIS platform is incorrect?

You can submit a request to update your educational qualification through the NAFIS platform. You will then be directed to the relevant authority to complete the required verification or attestation process.

    3. How do I know which authority is responsible for my educational qualification?
    • High school and below: The Ministry of Education or the relevant education authority of each emirate.
    • Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
    4.  What happens when I select "Update Educational Qualification"?

A guidance window will appear, outlining the required steps and directing you to the relevant authority responsible for updating or correcting your educational qualification.

    5.  Do I need to upload my educational qualification certificate?

In some cases, you may be asked to upload an officially attested or certified copy of your qualification if it cannot be electronically verified through the relevant authority.

    6.  Can I upload a certificate that has already been attested?

Yes. If you already have an attested certificate that includes a QR code, you can upload it directly through the NAFIS platform without the need for re-attestation.

    7.  What happens after uploading the certificate?

Your request will be forwarded to the NAFIS Operations team to review and verify your certificate. The team will either approve the request or contact you if additional information is required.

    8.  How will I know the outcome of my request?

You will receive notifications through the NAFIS platform whenever the status of your request is updated or once your educational qualification is reviewed.

    9.   Will updating my educational qualification affect my eligibility for NAFIS programs?

Yes. Once your educational qualification has been verified, your eligibility and entitlement for programs are automatically reassessed.

    10. What happens if my request to update is rejected?

If your certificate cannot be verified or the required supporting documents are incomplete, your request may be rejected, or you may be asked to provide additional documents or information to complete the review process.

    11. How long does it take to review the request?

Once the required documents have been received, the request will be forwarded to the Operations team for review in accordance with the approved operational procedures.

    12. Can I submit more than one request to update the educational qualification?

It is not recommended to submit multiple requests for the same qualification unless there are new supporting documents or there has been an official update from the relevant education authority.

    13. What documents are required to update the educational qualification?

The applicant must provide an officially attested or accredited certificate, as required by the relevant authority. Where possible, the certificate should include a QR code to facilitate the verification and review process.

    14. I have completed the attestation or equivalency process. What should I do next?

If you have been asked to upload your certificate, please upload it through the NAFIS platform for review. If your educational qualification is updated with the relevant education authority, your qualification will be updated automatically once the official source has approved the change.

    15. Can my educational qualification be updated without an official document?

No. All updates must be supported by information verified by the relevant official education authority or by officially attested documents that can be verified.

    16.  What does the message "Your educational qualification data has been received from the authorized authority" mean?

This means that the educational qualification displayed on the NAFIS platform has been received from an official government or educational authority. The official source must first verify any changes to this information.

    17.  Will my information on the NAFIS platform be updated automatically after the education authority has corrected my qualification?

Yes. If your educational qualification has been updated and approved by an education authority that is electronically integrated with the NAFIS platform, your information will be updated automatically through the approved integration process.

    18.  Can I track the status of my request to update my educational qualification?

Yes. You can track the status of your request through the NAFIS platform and view any updates or additional requirements needed to complete the process.

    19.  Who can I contact if I need assistance?
    • For school qualifications (high school and below): Please contact the Ministry of Education Customer Happiness Center on 800511.
    • For higher education qualifications (Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees): Please get in touch with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research through its official support channels for inquiries related to qualification recognition and equivalency.
    20.  Will updating my educational qualification affect my current NAFIS program eligibility?

Yes. Updating your educational qualification may affect your eligibility for certain NAFIS programs and the benefits associated with them. Your eligibility will be automatically reassessed once the update has been approved.

    21. What should I do if my educational qualification is not reflected on the NAFIS platform?

If your educational qualification is not displayed on the NAFIS platform, please complete the required verification or attestation process with the relevant education authority, then follow the instructions on the NAFIS platform to update your educational qualification details.

    22. Can the NAFIS team manually update my educational qualification?

No. Educational qualifications cannot be updated manually unless the update is based on verified information in accordance with the approved procedures.

    23. What is a QR code, and why is it required?

A QR code is an electronic verification code included on officially attested or accredited certificates. It enables faster and more accurate verification of the authenticity of the certificate and the information it contains.

    24. Do I need to visit the NAFIS platform after my educational qualification has been attested?

It depends on the type of qualification and the applicable update process. In some cases, your information will be reflected automatically through electronic integration with the relevant authority. In other cases, you may be required to upload your officially attested certificate to complete the review process.

    25.  What is the difference between attestation and equivalency?
    • Attestation: The process of verifying the authenticity of a certificate and having it officially endorsed by the relevant authority.
    • Equivalency: The process of evaluating an educational qualification and determining its equivalence to recognized qualifications in the UAE, where applicable.
    26.      Will updating my educational qualification affect future applications on the NAFIS platform?

Yes. The most recent approved educational qualification recorded in NAFIS will be used when assessing your eligibility for future programs, benefits, and services.
