What is the “Nafis” Program?

Nafis is a governmental federal program aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the Emirati human resources and empowering them to occupy jobs in the United Arab Emirates’ private sector over the next five years.It is launched as part of the “Projects of the 50”, which aim to accelerate the development journey of the UAE.

 


What are the program objectives?

  •  Create a partnership between the public and the private sectors and empower the private sector to become the key driver of the UAE’s development journey

  • Increase the competitiveness of the Emirati human resources and enable Nationals to occupy 75,000 job opportunities in the private sector over the next five years

  •  Create equal job opportunities in the private sector to attract Nationals

  •  Foster the attraction of job opportunities in the private sector

 


Who benefits from Nafis?

Nafis targets Emirati job seekers and current employees in the private sector and free zone and banking, financial and insurance sector , both males and females, aged 18 and above, as well as companies of the private sector that employ Emirati nationals.

Does the Nafis program include all sectors? If not, what are the sectors that are not covered?

Nafis initiatives cover all sectors and fields of the private sector. Kindly follow the latest Nafis news and announcements posted on social media platforms, as well as on the Nafis platform itself.

 


 

Is the Nafis portal launched yet? If not, when is it going to be launched? And how do I access it? 

Nafis was launched in September 2021, and the program registration has started over the course of several phases. You can visit the Nafis Initiatives page for more details about its programs: nafis.gov.ae

 


When was the second wave of Nafis initiatives and programs launched?

The first package of Nafis initiatives was launched in October, and it included the Emirati Salary Support Scheme, the Unemployment Benefit, the Job Offers Programme, the Child Allowance Scheme of workers in the private sector, and the Pension Program. As for the second package, it was announced during the month of March 2022, it included four specialized training and development programmes.

 


 

What are the programs included in the second package of initiatives?

Talent Program: which works to develop the competencies of national cadres to train Emiratis and develop their specialized competencies to obtain international professional certificates.

National Healthcare Program: targeting 10,000 Emiratis over the next 5 years by providing educational grants aiming to support Emiratis in obtaining the required qualifications for a career within the healthcare sector, through accredited academic and specialized vocational programs in medical, health, and pharmaceutical specialties at all levels.

Apprentice Program: a 12-month training program with financial rewards in private and semi-governmental companies to support the development of Emirati graduates' expertise in various sectors.

Career Counselling: provides career guidance and counseling services that help discover appropriate skills, opportunities, and career paths, in addition to offering guidelines for writing a CV, the basics of interviewing, and work ethics.

 


 

Who will implement these training programs?'

  • The Talent Program will be implemented by two partners of the "NAFIS" program: the Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy and the Center for Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT), which is the commercial, research, and training arm of the Higher Colleges of Technology.

  • Nine different government and private educational institutions participate in providing accredited healthcare programs across the country.

  • The implementation supervision of the Apprenticeship Program will be handled by private and semi-private companies that fit the program criteria.

  • The Career Counselling Program will be implemented by the Federal Youth Foundation.

  • All of these entities will implement these programs under the supervision and coordination of the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council.


Who is entitled to register in these programs and how?

Any Emirati citizen between the age of 18-60 years and wishing to benefit from the Nafis programs has the right to register on the Nafis platform, whether to search for work, find training opportunities or apply for one of the programs, by entering the Nafis platform through UAE Pass and applying Obtaining it according to the terms and eligibility.
